Exception

To be married in Germany I have to have a document called a Ledigkeitsbescheingung, which in English is roughly translated as a statement in lieu of certificate of non-impediment to marriage.

Who would have ever thought that the English translation would not only be more complex, but have about three times as many syllables?!

(note: German words are usually very long and complex)

Hi Allison,
I don't know if you remember me from OC, but I check in on the HIMers blogs once in a while. Congrats on the engagement! That's so wonderful! May God continue to bless your work for the church and your relationship.

What about your Ledigkeitsbescheinigungspapiereinordnungstragetaschenabstellplatz? I hope you haven't neglected to arrange for one of those. I hear they're essential for weddings in Germany.
