One of the recently added highlights of our area
is this inexpensive salon right at the bottom of our apartment building. It's called, "Cutman" and the slogan is "Rescues the world from bad hairstyles." It's so funny! Grady and I have got our last two haircuts there because it only costs 10 Euros for a wash and cut--can't beat it! The front of the salon is also obnoxiously lit up at night which always makes it easy to use as a landmark for new people trying to find our place. Yeah, Cutman!
And one last thing (for this post) that's so great about our neighborhood
is how close everything is to us. Within a 10 minutes' walking radius lies two pharmacies, two grocery stores, a drugstore, four bakeries, a public library, Subway (yummm), five cafes (at least), a salon (see above), and numerous other shops and services. I especially love the flower markets at this time of year, when the streets are just packed with colorful blooms. They're often next to wonderful fruit/vegetable shops as well. The one in the picture is just across the street from us!
More about our cool neighborhood to come!

Hey THAT is great for at least two reasons: first - I am checking your blog at least twice a day for "the good news" and so I have always something beautiful to read about and second: I am SO CLOSE to move to your neighborhood... with best neighbors I could think of (you ;-) and those beautiful stores... SO convincing!
It sounds perfect! I would love to come visit you!:) We've not been to Germany yet, but one day we'll venture out that way!
WHERE'S THAT BABY!?
Man you're making me miss Dresden too much. Wish I could have been there for Cutman. Sounds very exciting. I need a good haircut right now too. I'm thinking of going short for summer, but I'm not sure I have the guts yet.
I'm still crossing my fingers for Saturday!!!
Allison,
I found your blog a few weeks back through Missionary-blogs.com and have been following with interest since then. (I am also pregnant with my first.)
Anyway, I just had to comment on the mannequin thing. We're missionaries in Thailand and almost all mannequins here have those crazy-huge-scary mouths! Most of the time they also have rainbow hair (which I notice yours did not). We've been here 2 years, and I still haven't figured it out!
Of course, many blessings as you approach that due date!
