Landing in Edmonton was a shock to our systems as we met wintery weather for the first time this year. We took advantage by playing in the snow, drinking lots of hot beverages, and we even attempted to go skating until arriving and discovering the rental place was closed on that particular day (so we just ran
around on the ice instead!). We ate our fill of good steaks and burgers, and I noticed my beverage consumption slowly increasing at every successive meal out (I mean, the refills were FREE!). We spent time with family and friends and Grady flew back to Dresden before "real winter" set in, with the worst blizzard in 18
years hitting Edmonton and keeping many people housebound. Before we knew it the roads were cleared off and life continued on, albeit in "deep freeze" conditions--the temperature was around -25C for my last few days in Canada. Then before we knew it I was once again saying goodbye to those it felt I had just said hello to and I flew back to spring-like Dresden with rain and 10C. It was a wonderful four weeks back with family and friends and our next reunion will also include the grand introduction of our new baby! We hope to see everyone again around next Christmas.
